Alamo Rose #4 is reorganizing post COVID-19!

Dustin Seiler - Chapter Dispatcher/Webmaster

With COVID-19 in Texas on the way out, and as SCV camps across Texas getting back to somewhat normal; it is with mixed feelings to announce that Mrs. Eileen Lehmberg has resigned as the Chapter Representative of TSOCR Alamo Rose, Chapter #4, on March 19th, 2021, at the reorganizing meeting. Mrs. Lehmberg is our most beloved members and is one of the few surviving chartering members of the Texas Society OCR when it was first established in May 1995. We will miss having her as one of the driving forces of our chapter, but she is remaining with as a Life Member & Black Rose. She is also one of the first women to receive the Lucy Pickens Award from the Texas Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans as well as a recipient of the SCV Ladies Appreciation Medal from the Army of Trans-Mississippi for all her hard work and loving support to the, now eleven camps of the 6th Brigade.

But... we also want to congratulate Mrs. Jo Ann Seiler on being selected as the new Chapter Rep. Pro-Temp. Mrs. Seiler has served as the Chapter's Secretary for the past 4 years and has even served as the Texas Society's' Treasurer. We all wish her good luck as she steps up to fill Mrs. Lehmberg's shoes...which is no easy feat! As for the Chapter itself, the membership in attendance was brought up to speed about what all has been happening around the 6th Brigade since COVID-19 and began to plan on supporting the upcoming Confederate Decoration Day with the Confederate Cemetery Association, the Tejano Memorial with the SCV Alamo City Guards, Camp #1325 and the upcoming parades with SCV Hood's Texas Brigade, Camp #153. The Chapter even adopted a new logo as part of its reorganizing.

The new Alamo Rose Chapter #4 logo includes the imagery of our chapter's namesake, which is adorned with garlands of Confederate Roses. Above is 11 gold stars – one for each camp of the 6th Brigade, Texas Division SCV. Below the Alamo is our Chapter name & number. The Borders of our chapter logo are the chapters colors – selected by Mrs. Lehmberg herself: Maroon, Grey & Confederate Pink. The organization name is in the same format as the one used by the Texas Society, only difference is the additional Inc.; indicating we are incorporated under the State of Texas. Below the Chapter logo is the 1st National Flag of the Confederacy (May 7th, 1861) that Texas flew after seceding from the Union.

While Mrs. Seiler serves as the Chapter Rep. Pro-Temp, the chapter is currently in need of filling the post of the Secretary/Treasurer; however, Mrs. Joyce Manuel will continue to serve as the Chapter's Historian - who is also our chapter's photographer, while Mr. Dustin W. Seiler has been reappointed back as the Chapter's Dispatcher/Webmaster -who has been charged with the creation of the chapter's website and managing the chapter's Facebook page.

Alamo Rose Chapter #4 will continue to ask "What can we do to help?" and provided any support it can to any SCV Camp that asks for it! In the words of Mrs. Lehmberg herself, "Tis a joy to be a rose!".
